Obituary:
Julia Agnes Marie Zakarevicz Bushek, age 87, of Dublin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at home with family members present. Proud of her Lithuanian ancestry, she was born in Shenandoah, PA to the late Joseph and Julia Zakarevicz and was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School. She received a Registered Nursing degree from Vassar Brothers School of Nursing in Poughkeepsie, New York. She began her career at Yale University and later worked as a supervising nurse in the operating room at Geisinger Hospital in Danville, PA, finishing her career as an industrial nurse at several locations. Julia was a multi-talented woman full of energy, which she channeled into her work, her family and all sorts of activities from art to camping to refinishing furniture and even auto repairs. She could fix anything. She actively donated her time and talents to many charitable organizations. Julia and her late husband of 61 years, Joseph, demonstrated integrity in career and family life. Devout Catholics, they were founding parishioners of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Powell, Ohio where Julia was very active in the parish’s St. Vincent DePaul Society and helped to organize many blood drives. Julia is survived by her five children: Karen (Dave) Reinker of San Diego, CA; Dr. Stephen (Grazyna) Bushek of Worthington; Joan (Peter) Schnabel of Hudson, NH; Mark (Maria, Ed.D) Bushek of Emmaus, PA; David, PhD(Debbie) Bushek of Vineland, NJ; and 10 grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm. TUESDAY at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell, OH 43065 (614)-792-1471. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 ¼ mile east of Sawmill Parkway.) Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2012 at ST. JOAN OF ARC CATHOLIC CHURCH, 10700 Liberty Rd., Powell, OH 43065. A private family burial will observed at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, OH at a later date.
