HERWITZ David Sidney Herwitz, age 67, of Worthington, OH and New York City, passed away in his apartment in New York City on July 19, 2012. David was born May 5, 1945, the son of Sidney X. and Margaret Eleanor Waller Herwitz of Worthington, OH. David graduated from Thomas Worthington High School, Worthington, and Ohio University, Athens, OH. He served in the US Navy after graduation from Ohio University. Throughout his career he worked in Information Technology primarily in the garment industry. He held positions in Boston and New York City. David, Joe Worman and Pat Ruth led in saving the Worthington Theatre and refurbishing the Morton Organ. David is survived by cousins, Margaret Fischer, Newburgh, IN, James Waller, Evansville, IN, Sarah Evans, Bedford, IN, Phil Waller, Hendersonville, NC, Dale Waller, Newburgh, IN and Jack Waller, Winter Haven, FL. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, August 11 at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, where family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery.
