Obituary:
David K. Wegner, age 48 died at his home in Fredericksburg, VA on July 20, 2010. Born in Columbus, Ohio on February 15, 1962. 1980 Graduate of Whetstone High School. David was a 27 year veteran of The United States Marine Corps, retiring in 2008 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was a devoted father and husband, and loved his family, his country and The Ohio State Buckeyes. David was a life-long Marine, earning numerous awards and commendations, including the Meritorious Service Medal (2d awd) and the Combat Action Ribbon (2d awd). His specialty was communications in The Marines, and served with Marine Corps Systems Command at various locations around the globe. Several of David’s equipment designs and concepts are still being used in the USMC today. Preceded in death by brother Steve Wegner. Survived by wife Tammy, sons Austin and Nolan, all of Fredericksburg, VA. In Columbus, Ohio by father Kurt; mother Katherine; and brother Danny. Also survived by step-sisters Brenda Davidson, Celia Stiltner, and Ronda Adkins all of Ohio; mother-in-law Rose Ross of Ohio. Additionally, David had many relatives and friends he loved across the country too numerous to mention. Funeral Service will be held 11 AM on Friday July 30, 2010 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, 614-885-4006 where family will receive friends from 10 AM until service time.
