Obituary:
Francis S. “Frank” McDade, age 80, of Powell, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at home. Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Francis Edward and Clara McDade, Frank is also preceded in death by his brother John “Jack” McDade. He is survived by his wife Betty, children: Janis (Jerry) Olinski, of Bloomingdale, OH, Ben (Valerie) Youell, of Dublin, OH, Carolynn and Colleen; grandchildren: Joseph McDade, of Pullman, MI; Michael Wood, of Las Cruces, NM; Tom Wood, of Bloomingdale, OH; Ted Wood, of Morgantown, WV; Dana Birrell, of Dublin; Travis Brand, of Powell; Nick, Katie and CJ Youell, of Dublin; and great-grandson Karsen Wood, of Bloomingdale. Frank graduated from Bennett High School, Buffalo, NY and remained lifelong friends with his classmates. He attended college before and after serving four years in the United States Air Force. No matter where Frank lived, he never lost his ardent loyalty to the Buffalo Bills. Frank retired from Ameritech Publishing and spent his early retirement years in Mt. Pleasant, SC before returning to the Columbus area where he had many friends and delighted in sharing a good story, a good laugh and giving strength and hope to all those he met.
