Obituary:
Bernard E. “Bernie” Cadden, age 84, of Friendship Village of Dublin, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Bernard A. and Evelyn Cadden, he was a graduate of Chillicothe Central Catholic High School, Class of 1942. Bernie entered the United States Army Air Corps after high school and proudly served his country during World War II. After the war he received his B.A., Business Administration from The Ohio State University. Bernie served with Nationwide Insurance for 37 years before retiring in 1985. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jeanne Ann Cadden, who passed in 2006. Bernie is survived by his children: Marc (Kris) Cadden, of Carmel, IN; Kevin Cadden, of Delaware, Ohio; Larry (Jan) Cadden, of Hilliard; and Liz (Mike) Lieb, of Hilliard; grandchildren: Clint (Stephanie) Cadden, of Ontario, Canada; Brad Cadden, of Evansville, IN; Jason Cadden, of Hilliard; Ryan (fiancé, Amber Laminack) Cadden, of Hilliard; Andrea Allen, of Grandview; Amanda (fiancé, 2nd Lt. Pat Dehnart) Allen, of Ft. Riley, KS; step-grandchildren: Rae Lieb, of Grandview; Ryan (R.P.) Pettit, of Kansas City, KS; Jeff Lieb, of Hilliard; and Alex Lieb, of Hilliard; and good friend and companion Mary Dunbar, of Friendship Village of Dublin. Bernie was a member of the Nationwide Retirees Association and was instrumental in starting their September Reunion trips. He was a parishioner of ST. JOAN OF ARC CATHOLIC CHURCH, 10700 Liberty Road, Powell, Ohio 43065 where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am. WEDNESDAY, July 7, 2010 with The Reverend Jeffrey E. Tigyer, Celebrant. Private family burial will be observed at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8pm. TUESDAY at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell, OH 43065 (614)-792-1471. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 ¼ mile east of Sawmill Parkway.)
