Obituary:
Thomas J. Cowburn, age 55, of Powell, Ohio passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. Born in Syracuse, New York to the late Charles and Geraldine Cowburn, Tom was a graduate of West Genesee High School, Class of 1974. He was a Sergeant in the United States Air Force and received his Bachelor of Science, Solar Engineering from Colorado Technical University, Colorado Springs, CO. Tom worked with Carrier Corporation for 17 years and then for the past 9 years he worked with Columbus Temperature Control. Tom is survived by his wife of 9 years, Katie Cowburn; son Sean Cowburn, of Columbus; daughter Emily Jacobs, of Powell; brothers and sisters: Michael (Sandra) Cowburn, of Saratoga, CA; Kathleen (Joseph) Nash, of Marcellus, NY; Patrick (Mary) Cowburn, of Syracuse; and Christine (Gary) Strange, of Charleston, SC; step-mother Joan Slater Cowburn, of Syracuse; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00pm. WEDNESDAY at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell, Ohio 43065 (614)-792-1471 where a Memorial Service will be held 10:00am. THURSDAY, June 24, 2010. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 ¼ mile east of Sawmill Parkway.) Burial will follow the Memorial Service at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, Ohio.
