LaVerne Groat (nee Fossee) died Friday, May 21, 2010 at Wesley Glen Care Center in Columbus. Preceded in death by her husband Theodore and son Richard Groat, LaVerne is survived by her daughter-in-law Gloria Groat, of Powell, Ohio; granddaughters: Kimberlie Clements, of Franklin, TN and Julie Carstensen, of Annapolis, MD ; great-granddaughters: Kate and Kelsie Clements and Isabella Carstensen. Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held for the family at St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, St. Clair, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider memorial contributions to: Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio, 3320 Tremont Rd., Columbus, OH 43221 or HomeReach Hospice, 3595 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, OH 43214.
