Obituary:
Brad Alan Barber, age 53, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 8, 2010. Brad was born in Mansfield, Ohio the son of Melvin Edgar and Norma Jane Barber. Brad graduated from Malabar High School, Class of 1974 where he excelled in football, basketball and track & field. Brad played football, basketball and high jump for Winona State (Minn.) University where he majored in Industrial Arts. Brad was an avid Buckeyes fan and long suffering Indians and Browns fan. He loved playing golf, coaching his sons and being involved in their many activities. He coached them in Dublin’s Soccer and Football Leagues and Dublin Youth Athletics basketball and baseball. Brad worked in the insurance industry for over thirty years, most recently for AIG/American General. He was an incredible father, son, brother, friend and husband. His quick wit, sarcastic humor and laugh will be missed by all. Our lives are richer for knowing and loving him. Brad is preceded in death by his father Melvin “Bud” Barber and his sister Marta Barber Bott. He is survived by his wife Helen, sons Brandt Abraham and Benjamin Alan Barber, of Dublin. He is also survived by his mother Norma Barber; sister Dr. Mickey Barber, brother-in-law Bob Graf and her children Cameron and Lindsay Segal; nieces Chloe and Gracie Bott; father-in-law and mother-in-law Roger and Robina Krites; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dan and Lesa Krites and nephews Ryne, C.J. and Logan Krites. Family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8pm. FRIDAY at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell, OH 43065 (614)-792-1471. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 ¼ mile east of Sawmill Parkway.) Funeral Service will be held 10:00am. SATURDAY, MAY 15, 2010 at NORTHWEST CHAPEL, GBC, 6700 Rings Road, Dublin, OH 43017 with Pastor Kevin Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Dublin Cemetery.
